CONNESTEE FALLS HIKERS
- HIKING SCHEDULE -
Hikes are color coded as follows:
Easy Moderate Moderately Strenuous Strenuous
Distances given are the estimated length of the round trip. Elevation change reflects the difference between the high and the low point on the hike. Due to ups and downs, the actual amount of climb will almost always be greater than the actual elevation change. Due to unanticipated trail conditions, any hike can turn out to be more difficult than it is described. Even "Easy" hikes involve risks that are greater than just going for a walk. Please read our Hiking Hints and come prepared.
We
meet at the swimming pool parking lot at 9 am for all hikes, unless otherwise
posted. Our published hikes are open to residents, their guests, and visitors to
Connestee Falls. Bring lunch, plenty of liquids, and $5 if you are not driving.
Those
not wearing hiking boots will not be allowed to hike with our group. The hiking
trails in our area have numerous hazards and it is too big a risk of injury to
hike without hiking boots.
Since there is frequently snow and ice on the trails during the winter, some
of our hike notices will state that ice cleats are required. It's a good
idea to have some in your pack on winter hikes. If you don't have these,
here are a couple of products to consider:

Individual hikes are subject to change up until the week before the scheduled date, so be sure to check the Friday Flyer before coming to the parking lot. During the winter, due to the uncertainty of the weather we will be announcing hikes 12 to 48 hrs. prior to the Tuesday 9 am start time. Hike locations and start times will be posted on this schedule page and the "Upcoming Hikes" page, and will be sent to those on the hiker's email list.
