OUTREACH PROGRAM

Outreach, which is the clubs most far-reaching program, began many years ago.  Today it serves over hundreds of people each year.  It teaches fishing skills and good sportsmanship while emphasizing the fun and relaxation available from fishing.  It focuses primarily on youth and assisted living adults.

Program coordinators (appointed by the CFFC Executive Committee) contact organizations that serve one of the Program's focus groups and offer them the ability to fish in Connestee Falls lakes.  It provides fishing equipment and bait along with supervision and instruction by people highly experienced in sport fishing.  The sponsoring organizations must assume liability for their participants.  The Program will also provide its services at fishing locations arranged by an organization sponsoring a group wanting a fishing experience, such as Boy & Girl Scouts.  CFFC does not provide transportation to fishing locations.   The supervision and instruction is provided by volunteers from the CFFC membership. Fishing done in Connestee lakes is on a "catch and release" basis.

The Program coordinators maintain a list of CFFC members who have volunteered to work in the Program.  The coordinators attempt to establish a program of events for the year by the end of April. The seson usually runs from May through September. However, organizations wishing to use the Program may request an event at any time of the year.
